Detroit Film Critics Society leadership committee member Patrick Dunn reviews movies for the Detroit News, Pulp, and CinemaNerdz. Patrick has been writing film reviews since high school, when he worked for a small newspaper in his hometown of Monroe way back in 2004.
He’s since written for a wide variety of publications including The Onion A.V. Club, MLive, Hour Detroit, Real Detroit Weekly, Concentrate, Metromode, and the Ann Arbor Observer. He also established the A.V. Club‘s Ann Arbor bureau as its city editor in 2011.
A few of Patrick’s all-time favorite films are Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, High Fidelity, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Mulholland Drive, and The Silence of the Lambs. He only recently began to notice that people look at him funny sometimes when he rattles off that list. He spends the occasional Friday morning talking movies with Lee Thomas on FOX 2 in Detroit, or talking movies and entertainment with Martin Bandyke on Ann Arbor’s 107.1 FM.
